Every once in a while American will publish really good points earning deals through their e-shopping portal. Today is one of those days. American is offering 5 AAdvantage miles per dollar on Apple purchases.

Why is this great?

Are you looking to finally purchase that new MacBook Pro with the 8th-generation Intel chip? The sticker price is $1,799, but will net you a whopping ~9,000 American miles. In addition, if you have an AAdvantage miles earning credit card like the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive® World Elite™ Mastercard® you’ll earn 1 mile per dollar spent, so this will bring your total earnings to nearly ~11,000 American miles, which may be enough for a one-way ticket on a reduced mileage award.

Not too bad for something you were going to buy anyway.

How to get the deal

You’ll need to head over to the American E-Shopping Portal and sign up for an account if you don’t already have one. From there, navigate to the Apple deal page and click the “Shop Now” button. You’ll know you did it correctly if you then see the following page:

You also want to make sure you stay in the same window when shopping, as this will ensure that you lock in your credit for the purchase.

Will you be taking advantage of this deal?
