I can’t believe I just typed out that headline. I never thought I would — at least not this early in life. I had hoped Anthony Bourdain was the celebrity I would follow for years to come. I thought he would be my Frank Sinatra, my Elvis.
He was nothing short of visionary and an inspiration for me to see the world.
In times where cultural differences are weaponized to the ‘nth degree, Anthony Bourdain united — with food and good conversation.
As I sat and collected my thoughts for this post I realized a couple of things, but one stuck out more than the rest. I never thought I could be so saddened by the loss of someone I never knew, but that is more of a testament to the kind of person Anthony Bourdain was.
Through his work and storytelling ability, Bourdain showed me that it was okay to visit places I never thought I’d ever want to. Imagine the impact he had on everyone else he reached.
Rest in peace, Anthony. Wherever you are, thank you and I truly hope you’re at peace.
